Did it take a lot of practice or striving to deliver a message with the cards?

This question came from talissia on Tumblr.

Reading tarot is like taking care of plants, there are those that are naturals at it that we call "Green Thumbs". If you try too hard the plants die from being over watered. Balance is what you seek while reading tarot for others. The hardest part for me is to not overthink it and to just let the reading happen. That is what I practice most.

I'm going to actually have to say that this is a complicated question. That it has both come naturally and I have also needed a lot of practice to be able to give the readings i do.

I come from two families that have magic and precognition. (More to come on my family history in a later blog post, I can't write it all here, I have to keep you guessing. Let's just say i can trace my family back to Salem).

I started reading cards in 6th grade which was 14 years ago, and I have been reading tarot professionally for the last 6 years. In the past 14 years, I have done a lot of personal research on the cards and have developed a reading style of my own.

I have also been trained by Rev. Arch Priestess Lady Belladonna LaVeau. (when I initiated into Wicca I took her last name). I have watched her do phone and in person readings for years. She supervised my first professional readings, and took me with her to festivals.

Lady Belladonna LaVeau is also the Dean of Woolston-Steen Theological Seminary where I got a Bachelor's Degree in Wiccan Ministry. One of the required year long classes is how to best give tarot readings.

I have spent the better part of the last 6 years honing my craft to give you the best readings possible. I am always improving, and will never stop improving. Yes, I have natural proclivities that absolutely strengthens my connection to your guides directly, but I will always be able to improve my delivery of the messages I receive for you.

I hope this answers your question,

Dove LaVeau

P.S. Please leave me more questions in the comments and I will answer them in a later blog post.
